BlackRock has launched its BlackRock Diversified Alternative Strategies LTAF, providing pension savers access to a diversified range of private market investments. The move is designed to enhance long-term retirement outcomes by complementing public market exposures with assets such as infrastructure, private equity and real estate, and reflects continued momentum across U.K. workplace pensions to incorporate suitable long-term, less-liquid assets into defined contribution default schemes.
The new fund has been seeded by two anchor investments — the BlackRock U.K. Retirement Savings Plan, advised by Mercer, and the U.K. pension scheme of another global financial services firm.
