Barings appoints new head of U.S. real estate research and strategy

Barings has appointed Dags Chen as head of U.S. real estate research and strategy.

He joins Barings after almost four years as the head of real estate research at Ares Management. At Ares, Dags worked with the senior leadership team to develop the firm’s house view and investment theses while providing strategic-market analysis for the investment teams. Before Ares, he served as vice president of research and strategy at Clarion Partners. Dags began his career as an analyst with the Barings Research team (formerly Cornerstone Real Estate). He is a CFA charter holder and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Connecticut’s School of Business.
