Banks fight to regain commercial real estate market share

Banks are beginning to re-enter the commercial real estate lending market after years of pulling back. As a result, nonbank lenders have expanded their presence, especially in areas like bridge lending. While banks now have more liquidity and a renewed focus on identifying lending opportunities, they face a significantly changed and more competitive landscape. Despite these challenges, industry leaders note a shift in tone, with banks showing renewed interest and optimism in commercial real estate opportunities.
