AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets appoints Justin Travlos as U.K. head of asset management

AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets has appointed Justin Travlos to the role of U.K. head of asset management. In addition, after almost 30 years with the firm, Dorrien Thomas has announced that he will retire at the end of 2018.

After what will be an extended handover period, Travlos will assume responsibility for the U.K. business as U.K. country team head effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Travlos joins from Stockland, one of Australia’s largest diversified listed property companies, where he was regional development manager for New South Wales, commercial property.

Thomas joined AXA IM – Real Assets in October 1989, first as an investment surveyor and then as a fund manager for various U.K.-focused vehicles. He was promoted through various roles in the firm, taking responsibility for the asset management function in the United Kingdom in 2007, with his remit subsequently extended to include the Nordics from 2012.
