Areim buys Stockholm landmark for €336m

by Released

Nordic real estate owner and fund manager Areim has acquired a Stockholm landmark office from Fabege for SEK 3,545 million (€336 million/$372 million).

The property is a Stockholm landmark, often referred to as the Newspaper Building or Dagens Nyheter Tower.

In addition, work is currently under way at the property on the preparation of a new local development plan. Fabege will be entitled to an additional consideration when the local development plan gains legal force.

The total lettable area is just over 77,000 square meters (829,000 square feet), of which 56,500 square meters (608,000 square feet) comprises office space and the remainder parking. The building is almost fully leased and is home to companies such as Bonnier News, including the publication’s Dagens Nyheter, Dagens Industri and Expressen’s editorial staff and offices. There are also numerous other office tenants, a public canteen, storage facilities, gym/swimming pool and parking.
