AEW has acquired a newly built, fully leased class A logistics asset in Lliçà d’Amunt, Spain, near Barcelona. The acquisition was made on behalf of a French institutional investor.
The asset comprises 115,573 square feet of warehouse space with accompanying office space and is fully leased to an international logistics operator specializing in the furniture sector, with a weighted average unexpired lease break of 5.5 years. Built to high local sustainability and energy-efficiency standards, the asset has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification and features solar panels with a capacity of 100 kilowatts peak and LED lighting.
Located in Lliçà d’Amunt on the edge of Barcelona’s first ring, the asset has direct access to the C-17 highway, providing connectivity across the metropolitan area. It is approximately 19 miles, or a 40-minute drive, from Barcelona’s city center and provides access to the wider Catalonia region, the rest of Spain and France.
