A&E Real Estate buys Upper West side apartment for $266m

by Andrea Zander

A&E Real Estate has acquired 140 Riverside Blvd., a 354-unit luxury tower in the Upper West Side area of Manhattan, for $266 million.

The seller was Equity Residential.

The 28-story building, 140 Riverside Blvd., is part of Riverside South — a group of six towers overlooking the Hudson River between West 65th and 72nd streets. Amenities include a gym, playroom, lounges, and commercial space, which is leased to the Dwight School and a veterinarian, according to media outlets.

As part of its purchase, A&E plans to renovate older apartments in the property, update the lobby and resident lounges, expand the fitness center and “reimagine” the courtyard, according to a source with knowledge of the deal, reported Commercial Observer.
