Institutional Real Estate, Inc. is excited to announce its newest initiative, IREI : LIVE! A new Virtual Conference Series focusing on the most significant issues the industry is facing in today's climate. IREI : LIVE will be produced seven times in 2021. The series will start in May.

IREI : LIVE’s panels will feature the IREI commitment of a one-to-one LP/GP ratio on each panel with a combination of four to six GPs and LPs spread out over two or three panels per event.

The live panels will be tailored to topics that are pertinent to each individual firm’s expertise and knowledge so that you can demonstrate your wisdom on a series of topics, which include:

Loretta Clodfelter is senior editor of Institutional Real Estate Americas, the award-winning flagship publication of San Ramon, Calif.–based Institutional Real Estate, Inc. She has edited the publication since 2015. She has more than 15 years of experience covering the commercial and institutional real estate industry, first with REITStreet and Institutional Real Estate Newsline (IREN), and then as production editor of Institutional Real Estate Europe and copyeditor for all of IREI’s products. Loretta has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Mills College.

Gila Cohen

Gila Cohen is a managing director, Real Estate and Private Equity at MUFG. Her responsibilities include investor services, corporate banking and fund allocation. Most recently, Cohen was the managing partner for the Castle Lanterra family of companies. Prior to this, she was a senior consultant and head of corporate strategy and client relations for Courtland Partners; managing director and global chief operating officer of private equity at Capital Dynamics; and chief administrative officer and head of business development for Golub Capital. Cohen has also held senior investment banking and trusted advisor roles at J.P. Morgan, UBS Investment Bank and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Joe Gorin
Head of U.S. Real Estate Portfolio Management and Real Estate Acquisitions
Barings Real Estate

As a managing director and head of U.S. Portfolio Management and Value-Add Investing, Joe Gorin is responsible for refining and implementing Barings Real Estate’s portfolio vision across client platforms. He also serves on the U.S. Private Equity Investment and Global Debt Investment Committees. Before joining Barings, Gorin held roles at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Rockwood Capital, Equity Office Properties and GE Real Estate. He began his investing career with Cornerstone Properties. Gorin has a bachelor’s in business and government from Skidmore College. He is a member of ULI and former chairman of ULI’s Office Development Council. He holds Series 7 and Series 63 FINRA licenses.

Andrew Kaminski

Cliffwater LLC

Andrew Kaminski leads Cliffwater LLC’s real estate research. Cliffwater, founded in 2004, provides research and investment due diligence services for the full range of alternative investments, assisting clients in both discretionary and non-discretionary capacities to seek to achieve risk-adjusted returns beyond those found in traditional asset classes. Prior to Cliffwater, Kaminski was on CenterCal Properties’ asset management team, raised capital at a boutique real estate placement agent, and started his career on the acquisitions and development team at JBG Rosenfeld (now JBG Smith). He holds a B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

William Pattison
Head of Real Estate Research & Strategy
MetLife Investment Management

William Pattison is the head of the real estate research & strategy team within the risk, research & analytics group of MetLife Investment Management (MIM). He is responsible for research and strategy development in support of MIM’s real estate equity and debt platforms. In this role, he works closely with MIM’s real estate regional offices and portfolio managers to craft the strategic house view, drive thought leadership initiatives, monitor domestic and international capital markets, and develop investment strategies. As a member of the Investment Committee, Pattison reviews and votes on all acquisitions for MIM’s real estate in the United States.

Chad Phillips

Chad Phillips leads a dedicated team of office sector-specialists in local offices around the world. He oversees the overall strategy, performance and day-to-day activities of Nuveen Real Estate’s office and life science investments. Phillips is also a member of the Global Executive Leadership Team and Americas Investment Committee. Before joining Nuveen, he was a portfolio manager and managing director at Guggenheim Real Estate. He started his career at Bank of America Securities in the Real Estate Investment Banking and Debt Capital Markets groups. Phillips has a B.A. from Davidson College and a master’s in real estate from Georgetown University.

Jonathan Ross
Head of International Real Estate
Migdal Insurance Company Ltd.

Jonathan Ross is a head of international real estate for Migdal Insurance, Israel’s largest combined insurance company and pension manager. Since early 2016, he has been responsible for the planning, execution and ongoing management of Migdal’s global (non-Israel) real estate investment strategy. Prior to Migdal, Ross spent five years as VP of Profimex, a real estate investment house, responsible for investments and operating partner relationships. He is a creative investment professional who spent the first 20 years of his career in the capital markets specializing in options, structured products and securitization.

Doug A. Schwartz
Chief Investment Officer, Real Estate Americas
J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Douglas Schwartz is a managing director and Chief Investment Officer, Real Estate Americas at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, responsible for all transactions and asset management on the platform. He is a member of the Investment Committee, Americas Management Committee and Risk and Oversight Committee, as well as the Board of Directors of Carr Properties. His 23 years in the industry have included roles in transactions, asset management, development management, research, risk management and capital-raising. Schwartz earned his B.A. in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a ULI IOPC chair.

Tyson E. Skillings

Tyson Skillings is a managing partner with Rockwood Capital and has 24 years of experience in the real estate industry. He serves on Rockwood’s Management Committee and co-heads Portfolio and Asset Management with a focus on commingled fund business. Before joining Rockwood in 2000, Skillings worked at EY Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group.  He received a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California. Skillings is an Executive Committee Board Member for USC Lusk Center and a full member of ULI.

Ryan Swehla
