Institutional Real Estate, Inc. is excited to announce its newest initiative, IREI : LIVE! A new Virtual Conference Series focusing on the most significant issues the industry is facing in today's climate. IREI : LIVE will be produced seven times in 2021. The series will start in May.

IREI : LIVE’s panels will feature the IREI commitment of a one-to-one LP/GP ratio on each panel with a combination of four to six GPs and LPs spread out over two or three panels per event.

She has edited the publication since 2015. She has more than 15 years of experience covering the commercial and institutional real estate industry, first with REITStreet and Institutional Real Estate Newsline (IREN), and then as production editor of Institutional Real Estate Europe and copyeditor for all of IREI’s products. Loretta has a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Mills College.

Tripp Braillard is a Senior Vice President, Defined Contribution Solutions in Heitman’s Client Service & Marketing group. He supports the firm’s initiatives across its full suite of real estate investment strategies within the defined contribution channel. Braillard works with firm leadership to offer Heitman’s real estate investment products and solutions to DC plans to help plan sponsors and their participants achieve their investment goals. Previously, he was a senior vice president at PIMCO and an executive vice president at BNY Mellon Investment Management and held a variety of client service and marketing roles with Fidelity Investments. Braillard received a B.A. from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Babson College

Greg Jenkins, CFA

Greg Jenkins is a managing director and Head of Institutional Defined Contribution on Invesco’s North American Institutional team, which handles strategy, new business development, and relationship management. Before Invesco, Jenkins held roles at Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab and others. He has more than 25 years of experience in the defined contribution market and is a frequent speaker and thought leader on topics in the retirement industry. Jenkins earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Colorado and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. He holds the Series 3, 7, 24, 30, 63, and 79 registrations.

Shawn Lese

Shawn Lese serves as CIO and Head of Funds Management for Nuveen Real Estate’s ~$90 billion Americas platform. He leads a team of seasoned portfolio managers in driving investment performance and partnering with clients on investments. In addition, he oversees the end-to-end investment process. He is a member of the Global Executive Leadership Team and Americas Investment Committee. Previously, Lese was a managing director on the capital markets team of Grosvenor Fund Management. He has also held roles at Morgan Stanley, Lazard, JPMorgan and Sullivan & Cromwell. He entered the industry in 1998. Lese has a B.A., an M.B.A. and a J.D., all from Columbia University.

Michael O’Connor

Michael O’Connor, is an equity owner and managing director in portfolio management. Michael serves an assistant portfolio manager for one of Clarion’s open-end funds and also directs Clarion’s defined contribution strategies.  Previously, he was an acquisitions officer with the Firm and structured investment transactions in the private and public markets.   He also served as a vice president with Clarion’s research team. Michael joined Clarion in 1997 and has over 30 years of real estate experience. He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association and serves as co-president of the Defined Contribution Real Estate Council. He has a B.A. in public policy from Brown University and an M.B.A. in finance from Columbia University.

Josh Samilow

Josh Samilow is Managing Director of Capital Raising and Investor Relations at BentallGreenOak and leads capital raising and investor relations for the firm’s Diversified U.S. Property Fund and the BGO Daily Value Fund. He joined the firm through the acquisition of Landon Butler & Company. Prior to that role, Samilow was vice president of marketing for Manning & Napier and worked for Fidelity Investments. He has spent more than 25 years working with institutional clients and has extensive experience across multiple distribution channels. Samilow received his bachelor’s degree in organizational communication from the University of Delaware and holds Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series 7, 63, and 65 designations.

Jani Venter, Executive Director, is a member of the Defined Contribution Fund Management Team for J.P. Morgan’s DC Private Real Estate Solutions. She supports the management and growth of DC private real estate solutions and provides regular portfolio insights to investors. Previously, she was an associate partner at Aon Hewitt Investment Consulting. Venter has authored publications and industry white papers on the benefits of including daily priced private real estate solutions in DC plans. She co-chairs PREA’s DC Affinity Group. Venter holds an M.S. in real estate development from MIT and bachelor’s degrees in building science and architecture from the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Allison Yager is a partner in Mercer’s Atlanta office. She is the Global Leader of Real Estate within Mercer Alternatives. She provides real estate consulting and strategic advice to clients and consultants and manages a team that provides strategic and investment direction for constructing real estate and natural resource portfolios. Yager has more than 30 years’ financial and real estate investment experience. Before joining Mercer, she worked for a real estate investment management firm and a public accounting firm. Yager earned a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Georgia. She is a CPA, a member of NCREIF and a member of boards including the NCREIF/PREA Reporting Standards Board.
