Healthy buildings: optional to obligatory overnight

March 11, 2021 | A Virtual Platform

Join Manulife Investment Management as we build the case for healthy real estate with one of the world’s leading experts on healthy buildings, Dr. Joseph G. Allen. The COVID-19 pandemic has elevated the expectation for healthy indoor environments. Centering decision making around buildings to prioritize people presents a massive opportunity to developers, investors, and tenants alike. Join us as we discuss the 9 Foundations of a healthy building, how building owners and investors can prepare their workplaces for a healthy and safe return, and on the economics of healthy building investments.

Joseph G. Allen is the CEO and founder of 9 Foundations, Inc., and an Associate Professor at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he directs the Healthy Buildings program. Before joining the faculty at Harvard, he spent several years in the private sector leading teams of scientists and engineers to investigate and resolve hundreds of indoor environmental quality issues. His academic research focuses on the critical role the indoor built environment plays in our overall health.
