2018 Inaugural iREOC Annual Meeting

May 8 - May 10, 2018 | Montage Deer Valley | Park City, UT

The 2018 iREOC Inaugural Annual Meeting is a "members only" event designed to provide a platform for candid discussions among real estate operating companies, institutional investors and their investment managers on forming and running more profitable and productive REOC partnership investments.

And, as part of the IREI platform, this meeting will uphold a strict ratio of only two real estate operating companies to every one institutional capital provider. This ensures that attendees are able to really engage and get to know one another both on a professional and personal level. View our Attendees tab above to see who is coming to this year's event.

Registration information:

iREOC is an exclusive membership organization.  Membership includes one complimentary registration to this event as part of your annual benefits package.

iREOC Board of Governors Day with all members attending

Objective: Designed for Board of Governors to define the future direction of the institute.

Who attends and participates: The Board of Governors meeting is an open meeting comprised of a series of facilitated discussions among the members of the three Board of Governors Councils (Investors, Investment Managers and Operators).

Members of the iREOC who are not current board members are encouraged and welcome to sit in and observe the proceedings.

Attending this part of the annual meeting will enable all members to observe firsthand what is going on at the Board level, and it will create the opportunity for members to raise issues and concerns and to contribute ideas and feedback for further consideration.

To help facilitate this process, proceedings will close with a “Town Hall Forum style” interactive group discussion, where all iREOC members in attendance will be invited to make comments and pose questions to the Board.

2:45 p.m. Developing the Institute: Group Discussions

  • Define the REOC partnership investment marketplace.
  • Examine and discuss key differentiators between different groups and models such as investors, operators, investment managers and hybrid platforms, etc.
  • Review iREOC’s REOCtracker survey and REOC Partnership Investment Guide. What data points should be added, dropped or revised?
  • Governors will be asked prior to the event to help define the issues, concerns and questions that are most important to them with respect to their membership and participation in the iREOC. At the event, we will take a closer look and discuss those that represent the most common issues, concerns and questions. The objective here will be to provide a framework for developing educational programming ideas for future events that will best satisfy the needs of our constituents. In the process, we hope to provide everyone with greater insight and perspective to enable them to better understand the needs and concerns of their partners and, in doing so, be in a better position to expedite deal flow, reduce friction and raise both productivity and profitability.

8:00 a.m. Breakfast
9:00 a.m. Workshop: Importance of Data Flows in Accessing and Serving Investor Capital

Why you need to care about it, what are the components of a comprehensive data and information model, what new skills are required, and what should you be doing?

This session will discuss the challenges of gathering, leveraging and exchanging data among the Operators, Managers and Investors. We’ll talk about why coordinating and managing data flows is so important. We’ll review a comprehensive information model and drill down to the individual components that make up that model. This includes data definitions, what data standards (NCREIF and others) exist, what is data governance and why should you care, and where to get started.

Discussions will include what iREOC member companies are doing today and planning to do in the future, what new types of organizational skills and roles are required, how to find and leverage existing standards, and how we can more effectively work together to smooth the flow of information.

Who should attend: All senior level investors, investment managers and operators who are directly involved in data management at the organizational level.
