LACERS launches search for new CIO

by Elise Mackanych

The Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS) has launched a search for its new CIO.

This position became vacant after the previous CIO, Rodney June, retired in July 2026 after nearly 14 years in the role. While the search for his successor was published on Oct. 27, the public pension fund enacted an investment leadership transition plan in May 2026.

According to meeting materials, the plan was implemented to ensure seamless continuity of the investment program and implementation of its asset allocation policy.

LACERS had $29.2 billion in total assets under management, as of August 31. As of that date, it had a 7 percent real estate allocation target with $1.4 billion in total real estate assets.
