Invesco Real Estate (IRE) and Fokus Nordic, a Nordic real estate investment firm, have formed a new partnership to invest in high-quality residential properties across key urban markets in Finland for the first time.
Fokus Nordic has served as a local partner to IRE in the Nordics since 2008, when the latter first entered the region's real estate markets. To date, the partnership has focused primarily on the commercial real estate sectors, transacting more than €1.4 billion ($1.6 billion) across 18 transactions. Notable projects include the successful transformation of the Fenix Sthlm office property in Stockholm into a high-quality mixed-use development.
The new partnership will initially target the acquisition and long-term management of modern rental housing in Finland’s Helsinki, Tampere and Turku affluent submarkets.
