Nikita Rao has joined Tishman Speyer as managing director, head of U.S. residential. In this role she will lead the firm’s rapidly expanding U.S. residential portfolio and pipeline, including Tishman Speyer’s market rate, workforce and affordable assets in the United States.
Rao, who will be based in Washington, D.C., brings more than two decades of experience as a real estate investor focused primarily on multifamily housing. Rao comes to Tishman Speyer from Nuveen Real Estate where she launched and oversaw the firm’s U.S. Cities Multifamily Fund.
Prior to Nuveen, Rao was a Senior Vice President at Federal Capital Partners where she spent a decade in multifamily asset management and led development and portfolio management for a series of value-add multifamily funds. She also worked in asset management at The Carlyle Group.
