Institutional investors are increasingly recognizing their crucial role in meeting residential property building targets in the United Kingdom and plan to boost funding levels, according to new research by Downing.
The study of U.K. institutional investors responsible for around £405.6 billion (€470 billion/$515 billion) of assets under management found half (50 percent) strongly agree that institutional investment is central to delivering U.K. residential property building targets, while another 48 percent slightly agree.
That realization is being matched with forecasts for increased funding over the next five years, Downing’s research found, which was conducted with investors working for private- and public-sector pension funds, family offices, and insurance asset managers.
