Atlanta-based Angel Oak Capital has secured more than $307 million for its Angel Oak Real Estate Investment Fund III, according to a recent filing with the SEC.
The vehicle has been backed by 20 investors.
Angel Oak Real Estate Investment Fund III, which opened to investors in July 2021, invests primarily in non-qualified mortgages, providing investors access to the growing opportunity in nonbank lending to creditworthy borrowers who have been unable to obtain residential mortgages since the credit crisis.
An equity fundraising target was not disclosed in the filing; however, the initial fund in the series had a target of $250 million.
