Google has announced plans to buy St. John’s Terminal building in Manhattan’s Hudson Square for $2.1 billion, which will serve as the anchor of the tech firm’s new Hudson Square campus. The seller is an ownership group comprising Toronto-based Oxford Properties Group and CPP Investments, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Google already leases the St. John’s Terminal site at 550 Washington St. along the Hudson River. The firm expects to open by mid-2023. The St. John’s Terminal transaction is expected to close in first quarter 2022. The asset totals 1.3 million square feet, spanning 12 stories.
As part of investing in its long-term campus footprint in New York City, construction is also proceeding at Pier 57, where Google will occupy about 320,000 square feet of office space.
