Qualitas launches new construction debt fund

Australian investment manager Qualitas is seeking A$750 million ($517 million) in capital commitments for its new construction debt fund, Yossi Kraemer, head of portfolio management and institutional capital, confirmed in an email.

Qualitas Construction Debt Fund II will invest in construction finance in Australia across residential, commercial and retail projects.

According to Kraemer, the fund has already attracted investors, which consist of superfunds.

The fund is planning to hold a first close this month, with a final close in March.

Founded in 2008, Qualitas has committed A$2 billion ($1.4 billion) in capital, according to the firm’s website. It has invested in a diverse range of commercial, industrial and residential real estate assets.
