MetLife Investment Management reports $4.3b capital raise for open-end fund

New Jersey–based MetLife Investment Management has reported a capital increase of almost $1 billion for its MetLife Core Property Fund in the past year, according to a recent SEC Filing.

Last November, the open-end fund had raised $3.4 billion from 45 investors. With the most recent report, filed on Nov. 1, the fund had secured $4.3 billion in total commitments, increasing its investor base by 15, to 60.

The firm was unable to comment on its fundraising efforts.

MetLife Core Property Fund invests in core office, industrial, multifamily and retail properties across the United States. When the fund was launched in 2013, the firm seeded it with 23 properties, valued at about $1.4 billion, from its own general account.
