Kiyosei Sugioka has joined the $17 billion ORIX Life Insurance Corp. as director of private asset investments and securitized products, both in Japan and outside of the country, effective April 1.
He will oversee private asset investments — including infrastructure, private equity and real estate — and securitized products, such as ABS, RMBS and CLO. The insurer has plans to expand its exposure to private asset investments and securitized products. Sugioka, who is based in Tokyo, comes to ORIX Life from Japan’s $1.5 trillion Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), where he served for five years, as portfolio manager, in GPIF’s newly built up Private Asset Investment Program.
