Another SF waterfront billion dollar project receives approval

San Francisco Board of Supervisors has approved Forest City Realty Trust’s approximately $2 billion Pier 70 overhaul in San Francisco.

This was the last approval needed for the project, which could add 1.75 million square feet of office space, 445,000 square feet of retail, light industrial and arts space, and 2,150 new homes across the 28-acre waterfront community.

Forest City expects to start construction early next year on the first phase, which will take five years to complete. The project will take about 11 years to complete in three phases.

Other ongoing waterfront projects in San Francisco include Potrero Power Plant redevelopment, which submitted a plan to build more than 1,800 residential units on the 21-acre property in September. The 21-acre property could consist of 19 buildings, ranging in height from 65 feet near the water to a single 300-foot residential tower at the center of the site.
