Waterton acquires 346-unit apartment community in Chicago’s South Loop

Waterton announced it has acquired the Alta Grand Central apartment community in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago. Completed in 2020, Alta Grand Central is located at 221 W. Harrison St., and comprises 346 units across two 14-story buildings. The property will be rebranded as The Grand Central.

Alta Grand Central is a modern rental community in a neighborhood that primarily attracts workforce residents in the healthcare, public service and consulting sectors. It offers a mix of well-appointed studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment homes. The highly amenitized property features indoor amenities including co-working spaces and an indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge, as well as a yoga studio, bike storage including a work station and electric car charging stations. Outdoors amenities include grilling stations, a resort-style pool and a rooftop spa with city views.
