U.S. farm exports rise 14% to record high

U.S. farm exports posted a record $196.4 billion, a 14 percent change, in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, according to Commerce Department data. The year before, it was at $172.7 billion.

Daniel Whitley, administrator of USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service, said on USAD Radio that while export volumes last year were down for many commodities, there were some whose volumes increased.

The biggest change in exports was ethanol, with a 67 percent positive change from fiscal year 2021–2022.

The largest agriculture export was soybeans, which climbed 26 percent, to $33.3 billion. Wheat posted a 19 percent climb, to $8.3 billion.

Cotton and linters had the largest increase in percentage, recording a 41 percent
