T. Rowe Price Group seeks partnerships with alternative investment managers, according to Bloomberg

Rob Sharps, CEO of T. Rowe Price Group, expects private assets to enter retirement accounts in the near future. Retirement investors are seeking to trade liquidity for return, given the long-term nature of the investments, said Sharps in a statement. Given this expectation, the firm is seeking partnerships with alternative investment managers.

Rowe, a retirement-focused investment firm, is part of a larger group of traditional asset managers looking to expand into alternative and private assets and offer alternative assets to their clients. For example, BlackRock and Capital Group are offering private asset products to individual clients, says Bloomberg.

T. Rowe is considering ways to incorporate private markets into funds that are historically composed of stocks and bonds.
