Stafford Capital Partners raises largest timberland fund to date

Stafford Capital Partners has collected $695 million for its ninth timberland fund, Stafford International Timberland Fund IX (SIT IX), marking the manager’s largest fundraise completed to date.

The fundraise, which included five new investors alongside five existing investors, brings Stafford’s total timberland assets under management to $2.9 billion.

SIT IX invests in high-quality timberland assets globally, primarily through the secondaries market, with a focus on building a diversified portfolio in existing softwood, hardwood and eucalyptus plantations.

The fund has made eight investments already, committing 33 percent of capital to a portfolio of 22 timberland assets and seven fund vintages.
