The Securities and Exchange Commission is considering allowing more individual investors to invest in private-equity funds, reported The Wall Street Journal. Currently, such investments are restricted mostly to institutions and accredited investors, which is as an investor with a net worth of $1 million (excluding their primary residence) or more, or annual income of at least $200,000 for the past two years.
