Erik Niland has been appointed to the Real Assets Adviser editorial advisory board.
Niland holds more than 25 years in executive experience in investment product due diligence and product management in the wealth management industry. He currently serves as managing director, head of product due diligence at Cetera Financial Group, where he leads enterprise oversight of investment products across advisory, brokerage, insurance and alternative platforms.
Niland is responsible for driving the firm’s due diligence strategy, governance framework, and product-evaluation standards. He oversees a team of analysts covering mutual funds, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), structured products, annuities and alternative investments, and partners closely with senior leadership across legal, compliance, operations and distribution. He chairs key governance committees, including the product review committee, and plays a central role in ensuring that product offerings meet rigorous risk,
