Proptech VC investments hit record in six months

Venture investment in real estate tech startups hit $12.9 billion in the first half of 2019, reported data from research firm CREtech.

Globally, in May 2019, total dollar volume of venture capital investments in real estate tech companies reached a reported $1.01 billion, across 30 deals. Year-to-year, total dollar volume increased by 11 percent. Median funding amounts continue to climb, especially for companies in the Americas. Month-to-month, the median funding amount surged by 99 percent to $13 million.

And investments in private real estate tech companies continue to set new records in June. For the fourth consecutive month, dollar volume in real estate tech surpassed the billion-dollar mark. In addition, deal volume surged in June.  During the month, 43 companies received venture funding, an estimated 95.5 percent increase, month-to-month.
