Predevelopment agreement signed for bus yard modernization project in San Francisco

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has been approved to execute the initial predevelopment agreement with the Potrero Neighborhood Collective, a developer charged with leading the Potrero Yard Modernization Project.

Potrero Yard currently does not meet up-to-date seismic safety standards, and the structure cannot support modern maintenance and cleaning; however, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 100,000 Muni customers relied on six bus routes running out of Potrero Yard. The Potrero Yard Modernization Project, located at Bryant and Mariposa streets in the Potrero Hill neighborhood, is an initiative to restore the obsolete 107-year-old Potrero Bus Yard with a state-of-the-art bus storage facility and up to 575 affordable rental units for low- and moderate-income tenants.
