North American mergers and acquisitions continued to increase in number last year, rising by 14 percent last year to 366, according to figures from ECHELON Partners.
The fourth quarter 2024 totaled 125 deals, an increase from 95 in the same period the previous year.
The report noted that several deals involved overseas buyers, while transactions are spilling over into adjacent areas such as the trusts sector, according to Family Wealth Report.
The average assets per transaction declined slightly from $1.7 billion in 2023 to $1.4 billion in 2024. Meanwhile, a record 11 transactions involved more than $100 billion in AUM.
Echelon anticipates that 2025 will be equally strong.
