Non-listed business development companies (BDCs) saw significant declines in fundraising in second quarter 2026, according to research from Robert A. Stanger & Co.
In the second quarter, publicly registered non-listed BDCs saw an 82 percent decline year-over-year with a total of $2 billion. Fundraising in the first half of the year was down by 70 percent with $7.1 billion, compared to the year prior at $23.5 billion.
Signs of moderation are gradually growing in the third quarter, with research firm’s NL BDC Total Return Index growing 1.2 percent in the second quarter.
