Madison River Capital backs JDC Power Systems

Madison River Capital (MRC), a lower middle-market private equity firm that spun out of the family office of Tony James, former executive vice chairman of Blackstone, has completed a $190 million recapitalization of and $70 million equity investment in JDC Power Systems.

Headquartered in Armonk, N.Y., JDC is one of the largest suppliers of data center power equipment in the United States. The company’s expertise in coordinating with utility-power grids minimizes the risks of redesigns, delays, or system failures. MRC said the capital infusion will set up JDC for further growth in the rapidly expanding data center sector.

This transaction marks MRC’s second investment in the past seven months after its spin out.
