Latest DEI survey finds 96% of CRE firms have DEI strategies

The latest edition of the Global Real Estate DEI Survey, a biannual report tracking the commercial real estate industry’s demographics and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practices, has been released. The survey is conducted in partnership with 19 industry associations and Ferguson Partners and covers 216 firms and 296,902 full-time employees.

Among the survey’s findings, nearly 96 percent of commercial real estate firms have put in place DEI policies and procedures, with more than 56 percent of firms enacting formal strategies. Increasingly, firms are focusing on scholarships and internships to increase diversity in candidate pools, with 31.6 percent of firms saying that is the most impactful DEI policy in 2023.
