Klotz, KABR plan $200m redevelopment in Jacksonville, Fla.

by Andrea Zander

The Klotz Group of Cos., with its partner KABR, has received government approval to move forward in redeveloping the Morocco Shrine Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

The firms are planning a more than $200 million mixed-use development, Village at Town Center, for the 37-acre site.

The current standing 100,000-square-foot main temple building will be demolished for 1,025 units, which will consist of luxury and market-rate apartments, 55-plus and student housing, and a five-story hotel. The plan will also feature 115,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space with public green space.

Construction is expected to begin in 2022.
