Katharine “K.C.” Krieger, CIO of The Broad Foundations and Family Office, has been named the next chief investment officer of the J. Paul Getty Trust
Krieger has overseen the management of more than $2 billion in assets for The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation and The Broad Art Foundation, as well as the Broad family’s personal investments. Krieger has been a member of the Broad investment team for 23 years, serving as CIO since 2017. Krieger will join Getty on April 15.
As CIO at Getty, Krieger will manage investing of the endowment that supports all activities of Getty. Endowment earnings fund Getty’s global philanthropic operations that include the free Getty Museum and Getty Library, the visual art conservation programs of the Getty Conservation Institute, the scholarship and archives of the Getty Research Institute, and the grants issued by the Getty Foundation. The value of the Getty Trust endowment at the end of fiscal 2023 was $8.6 billion.
