Asset managers see semiliquid funds’ limitations as an asset rather than an obstacle when offering private assets to retail investors, says Morningstar.
Though illiquid assets are not ideal for exchange-traded funds or mutual funds, they are appropriate for investing in private assets due to their exposure, locked-up capital and long-term investment opportunities. Semiliquid funds offer investor increased accessibility and enhanced clarity among the historically unclear private asset realm.
