by Jody Barhanovich

Invesco is planning to buy Guggenheim Partners’ ETF business, according to news sources. The sales price was not disclosed; however, news sources estimate the transaction price to be approximately $1.2 billion.

Invesco will acquire Guggenheim’s suite of ETFs, which already has around $37 billion in assets under management, while Invesco already has about $125 billion in ETF assets, according to sources. In total, Invesco’s preliminary month-end assets under management, as of Aug. 31, was $906.7 billion, an increase of 3.4 percent month over month.

The deal should be closed in the second half of 2018.

In order to strengthen its ETF production offering, Invesco also purchased asset manager Source in April.
