Real Assets Adviser and IPA have partnered to expand its educational offerings and provide timely, actionable information for financial advisers and those that support their work with clients through the newly launched Real Alternative Insights series.
The series’ inaugural call focuses on real estate and debt through closed-end interval funds, which have had a startling rise in the private wealth market.
Closed-end funds have evolved into a versatile solution for client portfolios. The structure of a closed-end fund, however, only reveals some elementary considerations for inclusion in those portfolios.
Since the advent of the interval fund in 2014, there are now nearly 40 active interval funds with $17.4 billion in assets currently under management and billions more looking to be raised by more than 20 other interval funds that are currently in registration.
Three panelists — Randy Anderson, chief economist for Griffin Capital Corp.; John Guthery, managing director of product and marketing for Provasi Capital Partners; and Justin Milberg, managing director for Resource Financial Fund Management — along with moderator Mike Consol, editor of Real Assets Adviser, discuss basic structural elements that make closed-end interval funds attractive to product designers and sponsors, as well as financial advisers and investors.
This call also focuses on expanding a firm’s collective due diligence capabilities by examining major differences between closed-end fund structures. It examines different types of closed-end funds and takes a closer look at the assets inside the structure.
