Interval funds near $100b in AUM, says Pitchbook

Interval funds are close to surpassing $100 billion in assets under management, according to Pitchbook. These structures have proven to be a critical asset to how managers are expanding access to private capital strategies.

Managers are offering various forms of interval funds, such as funds that offer a combination of public- and private-market investments that provide increased liquidity features. In doing so, asset managers can utilize interval funds to offer a scalable fundraising model, as well as garner more investment from the private wealth sector.

While the structure expands quickly, questions remain concerning liquidity promises and illiquid asset holdings. The capital-raising landscape is seeing increasing amounts of innovative structures, as investors continue monitoring and leveraging the long-term viability of interval funds.
