Fox Valley Developers has plans to transform Old Copley Hospital in Aurora, Ill., into a nine-acre mixed-use campus that will include senior housing (independent, assisted-living and memory-care), an independent apartment community for adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities, and 86,000 square feet of commercial space for healthcare offices and facilities.
Fox received $108 million in construction financing. The project also received $12 million in grants from the City of Aurora.
The Old Copley Hospital was originally built in 1888 but was abandoned in 1995 and has sat vacant ever since. Fox Valley Developers acquired the property in 2018 to begin transforming the defunct site into a community-centric development that will provide in-demand housing and services to Aurora’s Bardwell neighborhood.
