Global assets value achieves new record of $246.8t, says Ocorian’s Global Asset Monitor

The total market value of eight of the largest asset classes hit a new record of $246.8 trillion at the end of 2024, shows Ocorian’s Global Asset Monitor. Over the past 15 years, the value of private assets has increased three times more quickly than public assets, rising 618 percent. The value of private market assets increased by $1.27 trillion, or 9.7 percent, to $14.34 trillion, according to a press release Jan. 28.

Private assets have become more opportune for investors, due to their diversification abilities and increasingly high returns. Private equity accounts for 75 percent of the total value, according to Ocorian’s Global Asset Monitor. Strong investor and private company demand is driving growth in private markets. The United States sees the strongest demand for capital, and Asia holds the strongest supply of funds.
