Shortly after Kovitz Investment Group officially joined Focus Financial Partners, Joel Hirsh, former co-CIO at Kovitz, has been appointed CIO and chair of the global investment committee at Focus Financial.
Hirsh will oversee investment strategy, asset allocation, manager sourcing and research regarding public equities, alternative investments and fixed income. Hirsh spent nearly two decades at Kovitz, serving as co-CIO for almost six years and portfolio manager for more than 14 years.
Hirsh holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Michigan.
Kovitz joined forces with Focus Financial in early 2026, adding nearly $35 billion to Focus Partners Wealth’s existing $140 billion in client assets, as of Sept. 30, 2025.
