Farmers and landowners face tough decisions

Current circumstances may indicate a peak in farmland prices and a potential downturn in the market, wrote Bryan Doherty, a senior market adviser and vice president of brokerage solutions, in a Successful Farming article.

Several factors that have contributed to the increase in farmland prices are low interest rates, strong demand for commodities, weather-related issues affecting crop yields, and geopolitical tensions affecting global supply chains. All of these could lead to financial challenges for farmers.

Doherty emphasized the importance of making decisions based on clear analysis rather than emotions and advised caution for those considering buying farmland at current high prices.
