CalSTRS invests $350m in CenterSquare REIT

The $311.7 billion California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) has allocated $350 million to a CenterSquare REIT joint venture strategy, according to a recent investment document.

CenterSquare is a global investment manager focused on actively managed real estate, private equity real estate and private real estate debt strategies. As specialists in real assets, CenterSquare executes investment strategies designed to enhance the performance and resiliency of our clients’ investment portfolios.

As of June 30, CalSTRS’ real estate portfolio had a net asset value of $49.6 billion. The pension fund had a 16.5 percent actual allocation to real estate, against a long-term target of 15 percent.
