Bridgepoint Group has plans to acquire Energy Capital Partners, an investor across energy transition, electrification and decarbonization infrastructure assets, for about $1 billion in cash and stock, people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg.
ECP has roughly $14.4 billion under management, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
The deal would help Bridgepoint diversify beyond its focus on private equity and credit investments in sectors including industrials, business services, consumer, technology, healthcare and financial services.
