BlackRock, JP Morgan, J&J on ESG going mainstream

by Andrea Zander

ESG is becoming mainstream, causing big name companies such as Amazon, Apple, Ford, JP Morgan and Vanguard to align profits with science-based climate policy agendas, reported Ethical Corporation by Reuters Events in its ESG investment report.

“In our 2019 survey of asset management CEOs across 11 of the world’s largest economies, two in three see their growth tied to the shift towards a low-carbon economy and ESG investing. That is a huge shift in sentiment from even a year ago,” said Troy Mortimer, head of sustainability and responsible investing at KPMG U.K. “Climate emergency, single-use plastics, inequality, political instability are all massive problems. ESG has certainly come of age and has moved out of the shadows onto center stage. That’s because it’s not just investors driving the change; it’s regulators and policy makers too.”
