BlackRock Global Infrastructure Fund IV raises $4.5b in first close

BlackRock Alternatives has captured $4.5 billion of initial investor commitments in a first closing of its BlackRock Global Infrastructure Fund IV, bringing the vehicle to more than half of its targeted size of $7.5 billion.

Infra IV secured initial commitments from a diverse, global group of institutional investors, including public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and family offices. More than 75 percent of the commitments in the fund came from investors who have invested in prior vintages of the strategy.

Infra IV, the fourth vintage of BlackRock’s flagship global diversified infrastructure equity fund series, invests in essential infrastructure assets globally, building on the strategy of BlackRock’s Global Energy & Power Infrastructure Funds.
