Funds managed by Ares’ infrastructure and power strategy have acquired the 302-megawatt Lincoln Land Wind project in Morgan County, Ill., from Apex Clean Energy.
Lincoln Land Wind has long-term power-purchase agreements with Facebook and McDonald’s, Apex’s two largest corporate customers. Facebook will purchase 175 megawatts and McDonald’s will take 126 megawatts of clean power from the project when it comes online in late 2021.
Apex and Ares previously partnered with McDonald’s and Facebook on Aviator Wind, the largest single-phase, single-site project in the United States, which commenced operations this year.
