Alternative investment fundraising reached $130.9 billion through August 2025, according to research from Robert A. Stanger and Co. This marks a 28 percent increase from the $102.3 billion in alternative fundraising raised through July.
Public non-traded business development companies (BDCs) led the fundraising with $30.9 billion, followed by private placements such as infrastructure and private equity with $27.2 billion, interval funds with $25.4 billion, public offering closed-end tender offer funds at $16.4 billion and private offering BDCs at $11 billion.
The alternative investment fundraising landscape is expected to hit $200 billion by the end of 2025. Blackstone, Cliffwater, KKR, Ares Management and Blue Owl Capital are the leading fundraisers, year-to-date.
