More than $10 billion of AI data center infrastructure is planned in the New York data center market by 2030, according to JLL. But the state is under competitive pressure, as adjacent states have been very active recently.
Approximately 70 percent of New York’s electricity will come from renewables. Multiple nuclear and hydroelectric projects are already under way. The governor of New York is planning to implement up to three commercial nuclear power plants.
Financial services, AI graphics processing units (GPU) service providers and AI inference applications lead demand for data center capacity in New York.
